Notes
I took many liberties with this translation. The original lyrics had excellent structure that was almost impossible to translate to English, in particular the second stanza. Temari is much more poetic.
"To the extent that you bear one of the ironies"
I'm not sure about this line.
"Let’s ascertain that."
Temari wrote "boku to kimi", which means "me and you". Unfortunately that would sound silly in English, so I substituted it.
"-- May my hand always be in yours."
This line was originally broken into three parts.
Line 1: My hand is
Line 2: In your hand
Line 3: -- May it always be there.
But I think the actual meaning is better expressed in one line.
